The focus of this campaign is to create a visual identity and design strategy which promotes the Graduate Show 2015. We particulary wanted to focus on the new on-line presence of the show. The approach taken incorporates a student touchwhile pertaining a professional feel. Therefore the title ‘ON’ was derived from the energy andcreativity of the LSAD graduate students. The Graduate Show is the highlight of the academic year, ‘ON’ communicates the ignition and beginning of this event. The title also suggests the students are ‘ON’ and are at the top of their game. The boldness and vibrancy of neon pink communicates this confidence and energy. The use of neon pink also represents the state of being ‘ON’ and ready for anything that comes your way.
The concept for the photo shoot was to capture images of students being immersed in luminous pink paint from the side. In order to create a dynamic system of capturing the model being saturated in paint, they were placed lying sideways on the table, allowing gravity to create impact. The photo shoot for the campaign involved 4 different 2015 graduate students of LSAD from 4 different disciplines to represent the diversity and creativity of the college. The preparation and setup for the photo shoot included 2 flash lighting systems directed from a height. The camera setup included a low aperture for clarity and a high shutter speed of 1/250 to capture movement. The full campaign will be available to view in the coming weeks on theresaphelan.com, so keep an eye out!
